Journalism that leaves more than it takes.

Cirya News runs on a simple promise: sustainable reporting, transparent revenue, and a slice of every dollar going back to the communities our stories cover.

Environment

The newsroom carbon line

Every page on cirya.co is served from data centres that run on certified renewable energy. We measure the carbon cost of streaming a video, hosting a podcast, and running our search infrastructure — and we publish those numbers in our annual transparency report.

  • solar_power Renewable-powered hosting (Vercel + Supabase)
  • data_object Static-first delivery — most pages weigh less than 80 KB
  • cycle Image & video assets re-encoded annually for efficiency
  • forest One tree planted for every 1,000 hours of stream watch-time

Our 404 helps find missing kids

Every "page not found" on cirya.co loads a panel from NotFound.org — a Federal Police initiative that uses unused web real-estate to surface missing-person posters across Belgium and the wider EU. It's one of the highest-impact things we can do with a 404 page that's otherwise dead space.

If you ever land on a broken link on this site, scroll past our apology message: someone's family is hoping you saw their photo.
